Common Rejection Cases

Analysis of Common Reasons for .np Domain Request Rejection

Your domain request may be rejected if required applicant information such as full name, email address, or mobile number is missing from the application form. All fields must be properly filled so that the registry can verify and communicate with the applicant.

Domain names based solely on last names or caste names cannot be registered under personal requests. Such domain names are reserved for organizations representing that name or community.

Some domain extensions under .np are reserved for specific types of institutions. For example:

  • .edu.np / .academy.np – Educational institutions
  • .org.np – Non-profit organizations
  • .com.np – Commercial or general use

If the selected extension does not match the applicant’s category, the domain request may be rejected.

If uploaded documents are blurred, broken, incomplete, or not readable, the verification team cannot validate the application. Please upload clear scanned copies of all required documents.

For company or organization domain requests, an official request letter and company registration certificate must be submitted. The request letter must be printed on official letterhead and must include stamp and authorized signature.

Applicants must submit valid identity documents such as citizenship, passport, voter ID, or driving license to verify ownership of the requested domain name. If identity documents are missing, the request cannot be processed.

The uploaded citizenship document may be unclear, incomplete, or unreadable. Please upload a clear scanned copy or photo where all information including the applicant name and citizenship number are visible.

When applying as a company or organization, the requested domain name must correspond with the company name, brand name, product name, or service name mentioned in the company registration document.

The submitted request letter must be printed on official letterhead and must include the organization stamp and authorized signature. Requests without these elements may be rejected.

The DNS information submitted must be valid nameserver records. Providing only an IP address is not acceptable. Valid nameserver format examples:

ns1.example.com
ns2.example.com

In some cases additional documents may be required for verification of the domain request. The registry may request supporting documents related to brand ownership, organization verification, or business registration or Nepalese citizenship or passport or driving license or voter's card.

For personal domain registrations, the requested domain name must match the applicant’s name mentioned in the identity document such as citizenship, passport, voter ID, or driving license.

If one or more required documents are not submitted during the application process, the domain request cannot be verified and will be rejected.

A domain request may be rejected when it does not meet the .np domain registration policy or when the required verification cannot be completed. Applicants are encouraged to review the rejection reason carefully and resubmit the request with the correct information and documents.
